[0001] One night at his table as head on hands he sat he saw sees himself rise and go.[0013] First
rise and stand clinging to the table.[0014] Then sit again.[0015] Then rise again
and stand again clinging to the table again.[0016] Then go.[0017] Start to go.[0018] Head
on hands saw sees him rise as above said and start on unseen feet to go.
[0019] So slow
that nothing if not change of place to show he goes.[0020] As when he disappears only later to reappear later at another place.[0021] Then disappear again only later reappear later again at another place again.[0022] So again and again disappear
toonly later to appear later again at another place again.[0023] Another place in the
place where he sat sits at his table head on hands.
[0024] The same place and table
as wge when for example Darley once died long ago.[0025] As when before him others
died and since.[0026] And As when others will too till he too. Shall die till he dies.[0027] Hope then Hoping Head on hands hoping when he disappears again
that he will not reappear again and fearing lest he may not.[0028] Or mere wonder rather simply wondering.[0028] Wondering wonder if he
will or will will not.[0029] Or mere wait rather simply waiting.[0030] Waiting to see if he will for him to reappear or will not.
[0034] The back roads.[0035] Now As one in a strange place seeking egress the way out.[0036] In the dark.[0037] Blindly iIn the
dark of night in a strange place seeking egress the way out.[0012] So head on hands at his table one night
he saw sees himself go.[0017] Start to go.[0037] In a strange place blindly in the dark of ngith night seeking egress the way out.[0038] A way out.[0040] To the old back roads. The way out. A way out. Back to the back roads.
